Happy 60th Mr. Mercury

Today would be Freddie Mercury's 60th birthday.

I remember the first time i heard Queen. It was the day of Freddie's death, i was in my school bus and they played Bohemian Rhapsody on the radio. So i became a fan the day he died.

I would also like to say HAPPY B-DAY to Jodita and Jack!...and as Mr. Mercury said in his song:

"Tonight I'm gonna have myself a real good time

I feel alive... and the world turning inside out Yeah!

And floating around in ecstasy

So don't stop me now, don't stop me

Cos' I'm having a good time having a good time"

good morning, edilma.

i have to admit that since mercury's death i've been a little overexposed to queen's music and it grew tiresome in me :(

BUT i do enjoy one song from his solo album in 1985. it's called LIVING ON MY OWN, and it's one of the gayer ass shaking songs i've heard. pure mercury.

have a nice tuesday (K)

oh, you know what i just thought of... you need to listen to SHOOT THE SHOT, a disco song by DIVINE, the obsese drag queen actress that shines on most of John Waters' movies, including of course, PINK FLAMINGOS. oh, you need to listen to THAT ;)

and be sure to put on some tight pants, or that ass of yours is going detach from your body, baby ;)

E, what a coincidence! I had just looked up Queen and Bohemian Rhapsody on youtube.com and watched Freddie Mercury at the piano.

I remember I had a rule for myself about that Bohemian Rhapsody song way back in the 1970s: Don't Listen to It When You are Feeling Down.

Because Freddie would start singing Nothing Really Matters and that could send me right over the edge (Twenties angst).

But, then years later I saw how the song was used in that hilarious scene in the movie, Wayne's World.

This gave me a whole new, and much better, context for the song.

Happy Tuesday to you...XO

Ah Mr. Mercury!
Oh to have shared to same school bus as you.
Were you a back of the bus kind of girl?
Front of the bus?
Or somewhere in the middle?
I would have loved to have spied you from my seat in the back of the bus listening to Queen......
I would have become YOUR fan, right then and there!

XO

Hello lovely -

Blogger was being mean earlier and wouldn't let me post. Grrrr!

So it's late and I'm saying hello. Still no computers at work. That sucks.

Hope you had a good day. :-)
